Extends Melissa’s Leadership in International Identity Verification for Fast, Reliable Customer Onboarding
Berlin and Rancho Santa Margarita, CALIF – June 5, 2018 – Melissa, a leading provider of global contact data quality and identity verification solutions, today announced it has been selected as the identity verification provider of choice for car2go, a leader in the carsharing sector. car2go integrates Melissa solutions into its registration process to validate and verify new customers’ data, allowing customers to quickly and confidently register entirely online and rent a car from car2go directly.
car2go needed a solution that would allow it to add an online registration process to complement its existing offline option for new customers. “The duration of the registration process, and the overall customer experience, failed to meet our standards,” explained Elisabeth Ihmels, Digital Optimization manager at car2go. “It also failed to match the car2go philosophy, in which our customers can easily and flexibly rent our vehicles at short notice using the car2go app.”
Instead, the idea was for customers to be able to complete the entire process, from registration to rental, through a digital transaction on their smartphone. Melissa set up a dedicated “private cloud” server specifically for car2go. This web service validates data in stages: first, the data validation tools are applied; then Personator World, Melissa’s solution for international identity verification, is deployed.
Thanks to this, new customers can now decide whether to register with car2go in-store or online on their smartphone. The latter option represents a fast, easy opportunity for both car2go’s customers and the company itself.
